CBD Body Butter

Soothe aches and pains with Leah Vanderveldt's homemade, anti-inflammatory body butter. The combination of magnesium oil, CBD oil and clary sage or lavender essential oil make this the ultimate pain-relieving balm great for any kind of muscle ache, but especially for period cramps.

The CBD Kitchen

100g/½ cup coconut oil

100g/½ cup raw cocoa butter, roughly chopped

3 tablespoons magnesium oil

2–3 teaspoons CBD oil

15 drops clary sage or lavender essential oil

An airtight container

(makes about 235g/generous 1 cup)

In a small saucepan over a low heat, melt the coconut oil and cocoa butter. Once liquid, remove from the heat and stir in the magnesium oil, CBD oil and clary sage or lavender essential oil. Transfer to a bowl and let the mixture cool and firm back up to the texture of butter (it may need refrigerating for 15–20 minutes if your home is warm).

Using a hand-held mixer or electric whisk, whip the mixture for about 1–2 minutes until you have a fluffy body butter. Transfer to an airtight container.

Kept in a cool place out of direct sunlight, the body butter should keep for 2–3 months in the airtight container.

Rub in to any skin anywhere you’re experiencing aches and pains.
